Daytona Beach, Fl. -- Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.That is just what Keith Mclain was at the Daytona 70 truck race.Jeff Sykes who was leading with only 12 laps to go had engine problems and that gave the lead and the win to Keith Mclain.Sykes who led a race high 35 laps limped to finish in 12 place.The race went green from flag to flag.With the green flag racing and green flag pit stops causing the field to get spread out.4 trucks broke away from the rest of the pack for the majority of the race.Rick Hubler who led early had electrical issuses and finished next to last.Early in the race team BlueRidge Racing and team FART fought for the race lead with team FART evemtually coming out on top.After the first round of green flag pit stops Jeff Sykes,Keith Mclain, Dana Webster,and David Gibson broke away from the pack and never looked back.Then while leading with 12 laps to go Jeff Sykes engine developed problems exiting turn 2.Sykes tried to get out of the way but with the trucks running bumper to bumper Keith Mclain just tapped him and sent him spinning.Sykes was able to regain control to keep the yellow from coming out.Mclain would go on to lead the last 12 laps to take the first checkered flag of the 2010 El Camino season.Following Mclain across the finish line was David Gibson in second,Dana Webster in third,Mike Garaguso in fourth,and Mike Hall in fifth.The trucks will be back in action on 3/7/2010 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.
